MICROS Austria shows commitment in the world of art!

We are currently supporting an extraordinary project: the reconstruction of an impressive mosaic in the Villa for Forest. With our contribution to the costs of residency, we are helping to bring a piece of Carinthian art history back to life.

The story behind it is emotionally moving: during the demolition of the former psychiatric building at Klagenfurt Hospital, a mosaic by the renowned artist Karl Bauer – known for his Kreuzbergl mosaics in Klagenfurt – was almost irretrievably destroyed. But at the last second, a large part of the material was saved.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Dr Oberlerchner, once head of psychiatry, and the talented mosaic artist Angela Zimek (Angela Zimek Graphic & Mosaic), the work of art is now being given a second chance. Stone by stone, the mosaic is being reassembled – an impressive testimony to dedication, co-operation and the will to preserve art for future generations.
