MICROS Austria 30 Year Anniversary

Three decades of groundbreaking success and progress

Since 1994, MICROS Austria has been shaping the world of microscopy and histological devices with precision and the highest quality standards. Our 30th anniversary is not only a reason to celebrate, but also an opportunity to look back on an impressive journey.

When we were founded, we set ourselves the goal of producing high-quality microscopes and microtomes for medical-technical needs at a reasonable price/performance ratio. Through selected quality, excellent customer service and the highest standards, we quickly established ourselves as a trustworthy partner. We also represented the Japanese MEIJI microscopes for the European market for many years. In 2004 we achieved our first ISO certification, which confirmed our path and laid the foundation for international recognition.

Increasing demand led to the establishment of a branch in Cairo in 2010 for the Middle East and the Arab region. In 2011 we moved our sales headquarters to St. Veit/Glan, surrounded by the picturesque Carinthian landscape. Here, where others go on vacation, we find inspiration and relaxation – an environment that has a positive impact on our work.

The realization that our customers not only need equipment but also reliable consumables led to us specializing in microtome blades and embedding media in 2016. By working with Labway International, based in Spain, as our global microscope distributor, we have been able to focus our efforts on improving the quality and expanding our range of blades. The success of our blades is based on their outstanding quality, precision and reliability. In 2023, we added the innovative MICROS Wax to our offering, which our customers confirmed to be of outstanding quality.

All of our blades and wax are of course CE and IVD certified, and therefore meet all standards and safety criteria in everyday laboratory life.

Why microscopes? Because we want to see and understand the world in detail – and we make this possible through our microscopes.

Why the switch to blades? For precise cuts and optimal results in microtomy, because quality starts with the details.

Why the change of location from Vienna to St. Veit? Surrounded by the inspiring nature of Carinthia, we work more efficiently and live better, which has a demonstrably positive effect on our actions and our success.

Future vision: Our success story is based on the pillars: constant adaptation to changing markets, striving towards sustainability and social responsibility, as well as expansion into new markets and strengthening international partnerships.
